Solutions to better manage your data

KUALA LUMPUR: The Hewlett-Packard Co has introduced a suite of products and services that will allow organisations to manage their information better.
Damien Wong, general manager of HP software South-East Asia, said organisations are now overwhelmed with information.
"Generally, they manage their data in silos, which is inefficient and can make the information difficult to access quickly," he said.
The problem is even greater among Asia-Pacific organisations where about 82% of the major companies in the region do not enforce a universal information management protection policy, Wong said.
This policy acts as a guideline for organisations to help them decide what information to keep for a stipulated period of time, as well as how should that information be kept and protected.
Instead of managing data in silos, organisations would benefit more if they managed their information holistically. "A system needs to be in place to capture, monitor and protect the information, as well as efficiently retain and search for it," Wong said.
One of the solutions that can help organisations capture their information is HP Trim, which captures information from sharepoints, e-mail messages and even scanned images.
Wong claimed the solution is able to cut an organisation's cost of managing paper-based records by 70%.
Organisations can also set HP Trim to control and secure data based on their own information management policy.
It also comes integrated with the HP Database Archiving solution that offers organisations a platform for managing and retaining information on paper, as well as more connectivity to archive data from legacy systems.
HP Trim can be integrated with other similar solutions.
Also available is HP Storage Essentials, which is used to monitor information. When used with the HP Storage Essential Backup Manager plug-in that is available in HP Data Protector, the solution helps organisations monitor the entire data back-up process.
This gives organisations a much clearer picture of what's in their data storage infrastructure.
Lastly, there's HP's e-Discovery solution that gives organisations a way to search and retrieve their data more efficiently.
This is available for all HP storage platforms. It speeds up data retrieval time using content analytics and advanced filters so users have less hits to sift through when they search.

  1. the articles is about Hewlett-Packard Co introduce a suite of products and services that will allow organisations to manage their information better. Manager hewlet packard said that rganisations are now overwhelmed with information. Data is meaned that they should be accurate, complete, timely, consistent, accessible, relevant and concise. However the process of acquiring, keeping, and managing data is increasingly dificulty.Typically, structured data is managed by technology that allows querying and reporting against predetermined data types and understood relationships. To the extent that database fields are clearly defined, meaningful information can be extracted based on desired relationships. One of solution that HP do is captured the sharepoint or take a picture it also can be a good solution for manage data. He also said that by using for this solution it can cut cost of managing.Today's databases and other technologies are bridging the gap between structured and unstructured information. Examples include textual objects using naming conventions, tags or taxonomies to identify digital assets. While often human intervention is required (for example in the case of applying keywords or metadata tags) the effort makes unstructured data more readable and useful in a machine readable context. The policy of data important to secure the data after managed.HP also using for the other solution to manage the data, there is used the monitor information.Storage vendors are leading in today's data protection market with de-dup, single instancing, archiving, data dispersion and erasure technologies, as a natural extension of existing franchises. Data protection is a legacy term receiving new world definition in an effort by storage vendors to capture market interest and validate the technical offerings of their storage hardware or software product line.why HP do this all solution it is because when do a manage data it can make all employed easily to see about their employee.
